Southbound Route 28 Will Be Closed Thursday Night in Millvale

Southbound (inbound) Route 28 will be closed at the Millvale Interchange (Exit 3) on Thursday night, March 1, weather permitting.

The overnight closure will occur from 8 p.m. Thursday through approximately 5 a.m. on Friday, March 2. Brief stoppages for equipment mobilization may also occur on northbound Route 28. Crews will be installing overhead sign structures at the former Millvale Industrial Park and at the Millvale interchange.

Southbound traffic will be required to exit at the Millvale off-ramp traveling under Route 28 to the on-ramp to the 40th Street Bridge. Traffic will cross the 40th Street Bridge to Butler Street to Penn Avenue to the 16th Street Bridge.

Traffic on the 40th Street Bridge will not be able to access southbound Route 28; access to northbound Route 28 and Millvale will remain open.

Motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns and allow extra time when traveling through the area.
