The American flag at the Verona War Memorial has been flying at half-staff since early this month in memorial of several troops who have died.
According to www.militarytimes.com, 44 troops have died in August.
On August 6, 30 Americans were killed, including 22 from Navy SEAL Team 6, when their Chinook helicopter was brought down by a Taliban grenade in Afghanistan.
In May, members of SEAL Team 6 killed Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind behind the Sept. 11, 2011 terrorist attacks on America.
