Verona Road Culvert Repairs Begin July 9

The road in Penn Hills will be closed through August.

If you travel on Verona Road often, listen up!

Work to repair the concrete culvert that carries Verona Road over Sandy Creek in Penn Hills will begin on Monday, July 9, weather permitting.  

To allow work to occur, Verona Road will be closed to thru-traffic in the culvert area between Mount Carmel Road and Lincoln Road beginning at 7 a.m. on July 9 through mid-August. The roadway will remain open to the culvert area for local traffic only.

About 10,337 vehicles use this roadway on an average day. Signs will be posted to guide motorists around the closure. Alternate routes are encouraged.

From North

  • Turn left onto Route 130 (Coal Hollow Road)
  • Make a right onto Route 380 (Frankstown Road)
  • Follow Route 380 to Verona Road
  • End detour

From South

  • Same detour in opposite direction     

Motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns and allow extra time when traveling through the area.
