Winter Storm Warning Remains in Effect Until 1 p.m.

Residents in Plum, Oakmont and Verona were graced with a winter wonderland when they looked out their windows this morning. Some have even gotten a head start in shoveling and salting.

Salt trucks and plows were heard driving through Verona throughout the night. Second Street and immediate surrounding areas are clear.

Residents in some neighborhood roads in Plum have reported their roads untouched. At of 7:30 a.m. Renton Road was snow-covered. Areas around Holiday Park have been plowed. And readers are reporting the intersection of Sardis and Logans Ferry roads is a mess.

Oakmont maintenance crews are currently out plowing the streets. Sixth Street is mostly clear, Maryland Avenue is slushy (but passable) and Fourth Street looks untouched. Allegheny River Boulevard has been cleared.

No major accidents have been reported in the area.

We're expected to get a little bit more snow, too. The National Weather Service said more rain and sleet is likely before 10 a.m., with a chance of snow between 10 a.m. and noon.

The high temperature today is expected to be 31 degrees, its website states.
