Western Pennsylvania Center for the Arts Events for the Oakmont Street Sale


The Western Pennsylvania Center for the Arts Will Be at the Oakmont Street Fair on Saturday, July 27th, 2013.   Come see us!  We have a full day of activities planned for everyone!  Our tent will be near Casey’s.  Our store is located at 300 James Street in Verona and will be open for business in September - come visit!  We’ll have a retail music store, events center and fine art performance center.  Come meet the owners of the Western Pennsylvania Center for the Arts as they gear up for their grand opening!  


Highlights for the Western Pennsylvania Center for the Arts;


An Instrument Petting Zoo - An opportunity for kids of all ages to come and try a variety of instruments.  You can rent an instrument from us for this next school year!  We will have forms and we will deliver your rental instrument to your home at no charge!   First month’s rental is free!  Have your instrument before the school year begins!  Come see us between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Introducing Futhark Guitar - The Western Pennsylvania Center of the Arts is the only US Distributor of these brand new electric guitars from Norway.   Based on the history of the Norwegian people, these amazing guitars have a head stock and body reflecting the Vikings of Norway.  Come hear the fast action and precision of these new guitars.  If you place an order for a Futhark Guitar at the Oakmont Street Sale, you will receive a personal invitation to our Futhark Reception that will take place at our building this fall when Tor Arne, creator of these instruments, and his team travel here from Norway!  1:00-2:00 p.m.  


Cigar Box Guitar Demonstration - Have you ever heard of a cigar-box guitar?  Would you like to play one?  Come to the Western Pennsylvania Center for the Arts tent at the Oakmont Street Fair and try one!  These 4-string guitars are made from a kit that you can purchase from our store.  If you order one of these guitars from the Western Pennsylvania Center for the Arts at the Oakmont Street Sale, you will be invited to a free workshop at our building in Verona in  September so you can build your instrument from the kit you buy!  Come try one!  2:00-3:00 p.m.

THE FIRST ANNUAL BEST DRESSED ZUCCHINI CONTEST will happen at our tent at the Oakmont Street Sale!  Bring your zucchini, (any size) fully dressed for judging.  You can draw on, paint on or fully clothe your zucchini for participation in our contest.  The entrance fee is $3.00.  First prize is $10!  Second prize is $5.00 Third price is $3.00.  Have your fully dressed zucchini at our Western Pennsylvania Center for the Arts table by 11:00 a.m.  The contest judging will be at 3:00 p.m. right after the cigar box guitar demonstration.
