Weigh In Wednesday: Healthy Fast Food?

Are there healthy fast food options out there???

by Joline Atkins at SlimSavers.com.

It was the documentary Food Inc. that served as the catalyst for my nutritional changes. Since then, there have been countless other documentaries that have focused on the the changes in our food supply, the increase in our country’s obesity rate, and how much of our food is now owned by corporations. I have not seen all of them, but they are all on my Netflix que.

I follow Food Inc. on Facebook and was intrigued by this article posted yesterday: 8 Healthy Fast Food Chains. Go ahead and flip through the 8 chains they suggest as healthy alternatives of the traditional fast food.

I’ve never heard of ANY of the restaurants they highlight.

So, let’s talk fast food. I’m not a fan. This is no surprise. Nor is in a judgement.

And yet, while I am not a fan, I realize that it is the reality for some on the run. And yet, the choices offered in the article linked above just aren’t available to my family.

So, using the most common fast food restaurants: McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, etc. share with me a HEALTHY choice that can be ordered there. NOTE: I will look up the nutritional information on the said item, so you may want to do your homework first. But truly, if we can find some choices that busy types can make at these establishments, I’m all for it. I’m not optimistic . . . but try me!

Weigh in with YOUR votes for healthiest fast food items. Let’s see what we come up with!

Erin and Joline, both health and wellness junkies, spent many years pinning down the truths about eating healthy and inexpensively. Both feel the it’s-too-expensive-to-eat-healthy excuse is untrue and infuriating.
