Weigh In Wednesday: Where do you get your motivation?

Where do we find, or SHOULD we find motivation???

by Joline Atkins of Slimsavers.com

“How do you stay motivated?”

“Where do you find your motivation?”

“I need you to motivate me!”

In my job I’m often asked these questions or expected to get someone off the couch and moving along with assisting them in adopting nutritional changes to their diet.

That’s a lot of pressure.

Well, guess what?

I can’t do it.

We tend to confuse MOTIVATION with INSPIRATION.

I can inspire you through life-changing  success stories (of which, I am one), or with witty and intelligent blog posts full of new ideas. BUT, I can not INSURE that my inspiration will drive your forward to make a change. See, motivation is internal. Meaning, it’s all you, baby.

Once we give up the belief that we are motivated by the external and start owning that “I” must use the knowledge I have acquired, what inspires me, and the dreams I wish accomplish, to make the changes I desire, nothing will happen. The external is ALWAYS changing . . . and thus, can not depend on external forces. For if the external changes, and we have been reliant upon it, that will turn our goals up on end.

However, a personal, internal resolve???

Develop that, and you’ve got it. (Took me awhile to do this . . . but, now that I have, I am able to talk MYSELF into doing what’s best.)

So, what inspires you?

What do you want?

What are you willing change/adjust to get it?

Weigh in. I want to know!

Erin and Joline, both health and wellness junkies, spent many years pinning down the truths about eating healthy and inexpensively. Both feel the it’s-too-expensive-to-eat-healthy excuse is untrue and infuriating.
