April 6 Activities

Lots will be going on in Verona Saturday, April 6.  If you plan carefully you will be able to enjoy them all.

AJ Demor Towers will host their annual “Flea Market and Bake Sale April 6 from 8 am to 3 pm.  Bargains aplenty will be available.  Here’s a chance to get some jewelry, clothes, doodads, furniture, hot dogs and sauerkraut, and homemade baked goods,

Boulevard Gallery, located at 736 Allegheny River Blvd., Verona, will host  “Follow Your Dreams,” the featured exhibit for April..  Local artists will be Pamela Price’s watercolors and Karen McKee’s pottery.  An Artists reception will be held April 6 from 6 to 9 pm.  Regular Gallery hours are Friday and Saturdays from 12 noon to 4 pm.

TreeVitalize, which is part of Verona’s revitalization project, will be held this Saturday, April 6 from 8:30 am to noon.  The community is invited to help with the planting of the 17 trees provided by TreeVitalize along Allegheny River Blvd.  The pits are ready for the trees.  If you decide to volunteer you may sign up at www.paconserve.org/300 or contact Bridget at 724-977-8374 or turtlegirl7_@hotmail.com  It is strongly suggested that volunteers wear old clothes and boots.  Coffee and lunch will be provided.

Earth Day will be observed on Saturday, April 27.  Lots of activities are on that day also and will be featured later in the month.  Watch for recycling information also.
