Many activities are coming up,.  I’ve tried to compile them so you can plan ahead.

This Thursday, March 21 Verona Historical Society will meet at 7 pm in the Municipal Building on East Railroad Avenue.  Following a brief general meeting Andrew Gaerte will give a presentation about the French and Indian War in Western Pennsylvania and how it affected this area.

Saturday, March 30 an Easter Egg Hunt will be held in Verona Borough Park on East Railroad Avenue at 11 am.  Youngsters will have fun hunting for eggs with the Easter Bunny.  Parents, bring your cameras so you can preserve every single expression.

Maundy Thursday, March 28 at 7 pm you are invited to gather together in the sanctuary of Rosedale and All Saints United Methodist churches for what has become an annual Lenten tradition for the Verona and Rosedale communities. The service will celebrate in a worship experience focused around Holy Communion, a symbolic hand washing ceremony, and special music.

Good Friday, March 29: Riverview Ministerium invites the community to gather together at 12 noon in the sanctuary of Verona United Methodist Church for the traditional afternoon worship commemorating the time when Jesus was hung upon the cross in the darkness.  The worship will include special music, traditional scripture, and an inspiring message.

A Tenebrae Celebration will be held on March 29 at 7 pm in Trinity Lutheran Church. Tenebrae commemorates the suffering and death of Christ through reading of Scripture, music, and the gradual extinguishing of lights and candles ending in the darkness of the tomb.

Easter Sunday, the Festival of the Resurrection of the Lord, Riverview Ministerium invites you to worship on the back porch of Oakmont Country Club to watch the sunrise at 7 am.

Check your church for regular Easter Sunday services.
