Nominate a great volunteer for "Senior Hero" award

Retirement is a major milestone, but for many it's far from the end of their contributions to our community. Home Instead Senior Care is honoring senior volunteers; learn how you can get involved.

For many seniors, retirement is far from the end of their working life. It’s merely the end of being paid for work. Senior volunteers fill countless important roles: the Meals on Wheels delivery driver, the after-school tutor and Red Cross emergency responder, to name a few. They lend a hand in our hospitals, keep our churches going, help our kids cross the street safely and more.

We want to recognize those great folks in our community who give their time expecting nothing in return. And so we present our Salute to Senior Service campaign. Throughout Feburary and March, you can nominate a senior volunteer for the Senior Hero award at www.SalutetoSeniorService.com. Each nominee will go into the running for a $5,000 donation to their charity of choice, plus one winner from each state will receive a $500 donation.

And whether you’re a senior or not, consider volunteering! For their time, volunteers are often rewarded with a renewed sense of purpose, improvement in physical health, and a beefed-up social network.
