Edward "Red" Barry of Verona died Tuesday December 11, 2012.

Edward, “Red” Barry of Verona died Tuesday December 11, 2012.

Red was the beloved husband of Joan B. (Beckett) Barry of 50 years; father of Linda (Donald) Bonaroti, Cheryl (Jim) Loheyde, Eileen (David) Risen and Edward (Karen) Barry; brother of the late James E. Barry; grandfather of Amber Bonaroti, Rani Rawl, and April (Christian) Wrabley; great grandfather of Star, Sebastian, Isaiah, Ava, Cameron, Dylan, Eve and Emma; nephew of Sally Hanzas.

Red was a Korean Air Force Veteran, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Verona, a longtime member of Verona Fire Department and served as chief of the department at one time, member of Verona Eagles serving as President two times, served on Verona Council for 13 years, he was also a member of the emergency management team, and VFW formerly of Verona.

Friends and relatives and firefighters will be received at BURKET-TRUBY FUENERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC., 421 Allegheny Avenue, Oakmont Thursday from 6-8 and  Friday 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 9:30 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church Verona.
