On Wednesday, May 22, 2013 George A. Aivaliotis, of Verona formerly of Churchill, passed away at the age of 88.
George was the beloved husband of the late Isabella Aivaliotis; loving father of Artistotle G. (Mary) Aivaliotis and Chris G. (Dina) Aivaliotis; dear Papou of George, Isabella, Michael, Sophia, Antoni and George Aivaliotis. He was preceded in death by his siblings Antoni Aivaliotis, Pantelis Aivaliotis, Erini Kouvaris and Maria Tsambis.
George emigrated from Greece in 1950 to meet his wife Isabella, who was already here. They settled in Gary, Indiana, where George worked for various industrial painting firms. He relocated to Pittsburgh, PA in 1956 to work for the JL Manta Company. In 1966, he took the initiative to start his own industrial painting company. It grew steadily over the years to become one of the major firms in the United States.

George’s passion was golf. He loved his friends at Churchill Valley Country Club, and Bellaire Country Club. He was loved and respected by all.
Friends will be received Friday 2-4 & 6-9 pm at the English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Avenue, Oakmont, PA, 15139 where a Trisagion service will be held at 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10 am with a visitation held one hour prior to the service at the Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church, Oakmont.
