Obituary - James R. “Jim” Thompson

James R. “Jim” Thompson, of Penn Hills passed away at the age of 73, on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at UPMC St. Margaret Seneca Place. 

Jim was born in Tarentum on November 2, 1939, he was the son of the late George A. and Martha (Wachter) Thompson; the beloved husband of the late Julia A. “Judy” Thompson; dear brother of Mildred (Bob) Bartlett of Texas, Edward (Edna) Thompson of Alabama, and Ann (Ron) Jones of Texas; brother-in-law of Richard “Dick” (Jean) McDade of Cheswick. 

Jim was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Verona. 

Friends and relatives will be received on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 7-9 pm at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Avenue, Oakmont.  A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 11 am in the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Myers officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Cheswick, next to his beloved wife, Judy.
