Obituaries—Munion & Ashbaugh

Here are two local obits.

Robert A. Munion

Robert A. Munion, 73, of Springdale, died Wednesday morning, January 23, 2013, at his residence.

Bob was born Dec. 11, 1939, in Pittsburgh; he was the son of the late James E. and Evelyn Barnett Munion; the husband of the late Mary (Gaspari) Munion; father of Joy (Keith) Douglas, of Cheswick, Debbie (Chris) Redmond, of Springdale, and Robert J. Munion, of Somerset; brother of Evelyn (Donald) Wooster, of Castle Rock, Wash.; grandfather of Jennifer, Luke, Tiffany Douglas, Tina (William) Neris, Robert Salvati, Brittany, Mark Stuckey, Natasha (Terry) Dodds, Mary and Ashleigh Munion and Rachel Redmond; great-grandfather of Grayson Neris and Marksyn Dodds. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Munion; and sisters, Laura Kalbaugh and Pauline Stancliff.

Bob was a retired driver for American Beverage in Verona. He was a member of American Legion Post 600, Oakmont, Verona Moose and PNA of Natrona Heights. He enjoyed golf and being with his family.

Bob served during the Korean War and Vietnam War in the Army and Air Force.

Friends and relatives will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Friday in BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont. Chapel services will be held at 10 am Saturday at Lakewood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Linda Chambers officiating.

Alma R. Ashbaugh

Alma R. Ashbaugh, formally of Arnold, PA, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013, at the age of 91.

Alma was the beloved wife of Robert K. Ashbaugh; loving mother of Robert D. Ashbaugh (Debra) of West Minster, CA and Carole Gallo (Stephen) of Mt. Lebanon; caring grandmother of Zachary and Theodore Gallo and Samuel Barbee (Antoinette).  She is also survived by three great-grandchildren; sister of Mable Gartley (the late Robert) and John Faith, Jr. (Joyceline).

A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.  Memorial contributions may be made to the First Reformed Presbyterian Church, 12900 Frankstown Rd, Pittsburgh, 15235.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the English Funeral Home & Crematory Services, Inc.
