Obituary - Romulus Augustus “Ray,” Picciotti

Romulus Augustus "Ray," Picciotti died peacefully.

Romulus Augustus “Ray,” Picciotti, formerly of McLean, Virginia, died peacefully at his daughter’s home in Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania, at the age of 97. 

Ray served as a decorated military officer during World War II and Korea.  He was awarded the Purple Heart and retired from the Army after 26 years of distinguished service as a Lt. Colonel.  Ray continued his career as an administrative judge appointed by President Nixon to the Veteran’s Administration.  He lived a life of service to his country and his family. 

Ray is survived by his daughter, Isabella Maria, his son, Romulus Augustus, Jr., and three grandsons, Douglas, Joseph, and Gregory Fletcher.

Friends and relatives will be received at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Avenue, on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 6-8 p.m.  Interment will follow at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
