Thomas J. Phillis, of Fox Chapel, formerly of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2013, at the age of 82.
Tom was the loving and beloved husband for 55 years of Shirley Gallaugher Phillis; supportive father of Kaia Phillis Sipple (John) and Mark T. Phillis (Mark R. Power); older brother of Margaret (Peggy) Dillner (Harry).
Tom was a lifetime member of the PA Institute of CPAs and was Vice President – Finance & Treasurer of the Burrell Group f/k/a Burrell Construction & Supply where he worked for 52 years. He was made an honorary lifetime member of Oakmont Country Club where he served as President from 1997-2000 and worked diligently to bring the US Open back to Oakmont. An avid golfer, he also was a long-time member of the Fox Chapel Hackers.

Guests will be received on Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 10:00-11:00am in the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church where a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am. Memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice & Palliative Care, 50 Moffett St., Pittsburgh, PA 15243; Presbyterian Seniorcare Foundation, 1215 Hulton Rd., Oakmont, PA 15139; or the Alzheimer’s Association, 1100 Liberty Ave, E-201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
