Emergency Crews Search for Person in Allegheny River in Harmarville

A person reportedly went missing in the river in Harmar Township.

Multiple news sources are reporting that river rescue crews are searching for a person who went missing in the Allegheny River Wednesday night.

According to WTAE, the person reportedly went into the water and never came back along Hancock Camp Road in Harmarville. The road is located off Freeport Road just east of the Hulton Bridge, which connects Oakmont and Harmar.

Twelve Mile Island, which is located in the river between Oakmont and Harmar, is in the immediate area.

Emergency calls were received after 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Post-Gazette.

Details about the missing person have not been released, but WPXI is reporting the person is a man who fell out of a pontoon boat.
