Man Accused of Burying Wife's Body in Plum Waives Hearing

Tom Clark is charged with murdering his wife, an employee at the Penn Hills Post Office.

An East Deer resident charged with murdering his wife and burying her remains in Plum waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday, The Pittsburgh-Tribune Review reports.

Tom Clark, 50, was arrested last month after investigators found Jill Clark’s body July 6 near a gas utility road off Old Leechburg Road.

He is charged with homicide, abuse of a copse and tampering with evidence.

Tom Clark told police on July 1 he hit his wife on the head two to three times with a floor jack over an affair he claimed she was having with a co-worker, according to the Trib. 

Prior to that, he told police his wife had left their house early July 2 after an argument and he had not seen her since.

Jill Clark was an employee at the Penn Hills Post Office. He co-workers reported her missing July 2 after she didn’t show up for work.

The Trib reports Tom Clark allegedly told police he covered his wife’s body in plastic and then drove around the Oakmont and Plum area trying to find a place to dispose of it.

Clark is set to be formally arraigned Sept. 24 in Allegheny County Court.
