Oakmont Man Waives Hearing on Child Porn Charges

An Oakmont resident faces several charges in Common Pleas Court.

An Oakmont man is accused of sharing child pornography videos on the Internet.

Mark Cory Loney, 30, of Oakmont waived a preliminary hearing before Plum District Justice Linda Zucco on charges of disseminating photo/film of child sex acts, child pornography, selling obscene/sexual materials and criminal use of communication facility.

Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges Dec. 11. He is accused of sharing child pornography videos over the Internet from October through Nov. 26. A search warrant was issued for his Riverside Road residence, and police found 150 pornographic videos involving children on his computer.

In 2009, state police charged Loney with several counts of possession of child pornography in Cranberry Township. He pleaded guilty to two counts and was sentenced to nine months in jail and seven years probation, according to court records.

Loney's $75,000 bail amount was reduced to a non-monetary bond with the provisions that he continues mental health treatment, does not use electronic equipment (including a cell phone), and does not drink alcohol or have access to violent content.

A formal arraignment in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court has been scheduled for Feb. 27 at 11 a.m.
