Oakmont Police Investigate Juvenile Assault

Here are the Oakmont police reports for June 14 to June 26.

Oakmont police are investigating an incident in which a juvenile said he was assaulted.

According to police Chief David DiSanti, a 17-year-old male called police at about 1:45 a.m. on June 25 and said he had been assaulted by a few other juveniles on Plum Street.

A police officer on duty earlier that evening had approached the victim and suggested he go home before the incident occurred. DiSanti said the juveniles involved are from Oakmont and Penn Hills, and police are conducting an investigation.

Recently, police also charged six people—three adults and three juveniles from Oakmont and Penn Hills—after a June 13 fight on Cedar Way.

The following incidents also were reported to the Oakmont Police Department. Information was obtained from police reports and call logs.

Trespass

Justin Michael Wright, 22, of Pitcairn; and Brandon Lee Steele, 19, of Monroeville, were charged with criminal trespass, conspiracy and possessing an instrument of crime. Wright also was charged with prohibited acts and criminal mischief after being accused of breaking into Burrow's Scrap Yard on Plum Street on June 19.

Disorderly Conduct

Nikki Mae Srdich, 20, of Verona, was charged with disorderly conduct and purchasing alcohol as a minor after a June 21 incident on Potomac Street.

Theft

An Oak Meadow Drive resident reported the theft of jewelry on June 25.

A Fourth Street resident reported a stolen bike on June 18.

Criminal Mischief

Three vehicles reportedly were keyed on Allegheny River Boulevard near Delaware Avenue on June 22. A Valley Street resident also reported a keyed vehicle on that date.

Grafitti reportedly was sprayed on the road at the Edgewater at Oakmont housing plan on June 20.

Hit-and-Run

A Third Street resident reported a hit-and-run on June 23 after her vehicle's mirror was clipped by another.
