Oakmont Police Tase Teen During Fight
Here are the Oakmont police reports for Sept. 19 to Oct. 3.
Oakmont police officers had to use a Taser on an 18-year-old during a fight last week.
On Sept. 29, police were called to Third Street for a fight. Police attempted to arrest Michael Joseph McAndrew IV, 18, and when he resisted, they used a Taser to restrain him. McAndrew has been charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
A preliminary hearing before Penn Hills district Magistrate Leonard HRomyak was scheduled for Sept. 30. McAndrew was held for court on those charges.

A reminder that Allegheny River Boulevard in Oakmont and Verona will be closed for a short period Friday for the Riverview homecoming parade. The parade begins at the Verona Borough Building at 5:15 p.m. and ends at Riverside Park in Oakmont. Oakmont police Chief David DiSanti said motorists should begins seeing road closures by 4:45 p.m. Police ask motorists to be patient and use alternate routes.
Criminal Attempt
James Richard Schaefers, 21, of Oakmont was charged with criminal attempt, disorderly conduct, loitering and prowling at night, possession of an instrument of crime and public drunkenness after a Sept. 21 incident on Oakmont Avenue.
Attempted Burglary
An attempted burglary was reported at Jay's Sharpening Service on Plum Street on Sept. 25.
Terroristic Threats
John Vincent Kelly, 53, of Oakmont was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and three counts of terroristic threats after an Oct. 1 incident on Hulton Road.
Theft
A Fourth Street resident reported the theft of scrap aluminum on Oct. 1.
A Penn Hills resident reported keys stolen from car ignition on Plum Street.
A Fifteenth Street resident reported missing checks on Sept. 19.
Criminal Mischief
A Pennsylvania Avenue resident reported someone drove through the front side of his yard on Sept. 27.
A West Woodland Avenue resident reported two slashed vehicle tires on Sept. 21.
Criminal mischief was reported at Panera Bread along Allegheny River Boulevard on Sept. 19.
Fight
A fight was reported at Riverview High School on Sept. 28.
