Pedestrian Hit on Allegheny River Boulevard in Verona

A vehicle struck a pedestrian in front of the GetGo.

Allegheny County homicide units are investigating a vehicle/pedestrian accident in Verona.

Verona police Chief Ron McLemore said a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in front of the GetGo on Allegheny River Boulevard on Saturday.

McLemore said the victim, who is a 60- to 70-year-old man, was crossing Allegheny River Boulevard at Center Avenue when he was hit--the driver was coming down Center Avenue.

The driver of the vehicle has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to McLemore.

Details about the victim's condition were not immediately available.
