Plum Police Reports: Burglary, Dog Bite & More

Here are the reports for March 20 to March 26.

The following incidents were reported to the . Information was obtained from police reports and call logs.

Burglary

A burglary was reported at the on Route 286 on March 22. According to police, the business' owner arrived at the shop at 8:45 a.m. to see the rear glass door smashed. A cash drawer had been pried open and a deposit folder that was hidden in a cabinet was stolen. More than $500 was taken, according to the police report.

A Balkan drive resident reported a Verizon modem stolen from her home on March 22.

A possible attempted burglary was reported on Cape Cod Drive on March 19. The screen of a rear sliding door had been cut, but nothing appeared to be missing.

Dog Bite

A woman reported being bitten by two dogs on Millers Lane on March 24. According to the police report, the woman was walking her dog when mastiff breed dog came and grabbed her dog by the neck. As she attempted to break the two up, the mastiff's owner—who also had a pitbull with her—tried to help, but then the pitbull also attacked. The victim had wounds on her forearm, elbow and upper lip. She was treated by and personnel. The incident was forwarded to Hoffman's Kennels.

DUI

Travis McDonough, 37, of Murrysville, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a March 18 incident on Key West Drive.

Criminal Mischief

A Monroeville resident reported her car window smashed on Jan. 18. when she was parked at the East Suburban YMCA to pick up her child. A purse with a phone and wallet was stolen.
