Plum police are investigating the theft of $24,000 and jewelry from a Carriage Boulevard residence.
According to police, the borough resident reported that someone had stolen close to $25,000 and jewelry worth almost $10,000 from a lock box and dresser drawers some time between June 18 and July 2.
Officers continue to investigate the matter.
The following incidents also were reported to the Plum Police Department:
DUI
Benjamin Demine, 25, of Monroeville, was charged with public drunkenness, failure to wear a seatbelt, criminal mischief, terroristic threats, three counts of disorderly conduct and three counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a June 22 accident on Monroeville Trestle Road and Old Frankstown Road. Demine is accused of getting very aggressive with emergency personnel, as well as spitting at them and making verbal threats. His blood alcohol content was 0.24 percent—three times the legal limit.
Nehal Thanaa Khalil, 45, of Chalfant, was charged with speeding, lighting and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a May 25 incident on Saltsburg Road.
Burglary
A burglary was reported at Monico's Bar and grill on Universal Road between July 4 and 7. The bar currently is undergoing renovations, and two tool bags were stolen.
Theft
A Kellywood Manor resident reported the theft of 13 Adderall pills on June 19.
A New Kensington resident reported his wallet stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at the Logan's Ferry Boat Docks on July 3.
About $11 in change was stolen from a parked car on Vale Avenue on July 5.
