Plum Resident's Stolen Jewelry Sold to Coin Shop

Here are the Plum police reports for April 2 to April 8.

A Plum resident's stolen jewelry was found at a nearby coin shop.

According to Plum police, a Kane Road resident reported on March 25 that $1,625 worth of jewelry had been stolen from her jewelry box. Police recovered all the items at Pat and BJ Coins on Route 286 in Monroeville—right at the Plum border.

Officers are investigating the theft to determine who sold the jewelry.

Assault

  • Vincent Gabriel Verrico, 39, of Penn Hills was charged with simple assault, harassment, recklessly endangering another person, criminal mischief and unlawful restraint after a March 22 incident on Maple Road.
  • Christopher Andrew Renaldi, 24, of Plum was charged with simple assault and harassment after a March 30 incident on Center Hill Road.

DUI

  • John Wesley Williams, 43, of New Kensington was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, driving on the wrong side of the road, turning movements and required signals, required position and method of turning, required lighting, and careless driving after a March 17 incident on Route 909.

Criminal Mischief

  • A backhoe belonging to the Plum Public Works Department was damaged over Easter weekend. According to Plum police, an employee of the public works department noticed on April 1 that the window of the Caterpillar backhoe had been shattered. The last time the equipment was used was on March 28, before the Easter weekend. Damage is assessed at $500, and police said there was no suspicious activity reported.
  • A Lowgar resident reported on March 29 that someone took a decorative cement gargoyle from their yard and threw it at a neighbor's yard on Garlow Boulevard.

Theft

  • A Dinwiddie Drive resident reported on March 25 that someone had stolen a cover from the bed of his truck.
  • A woman reported the theft of medication and $20 from a makeup bag she left at the Sheetz on Route 286 on March 31.
