Search for Hulton Bridge Jumper Yields Negative Results

Police and rescue crews were unable to find a man who reportedly jumped off the Hulton Bridge in Oakmont on Aug. 26.

Local police and rescue crews have been unable to find a man who in Oakmont on Friday night.

Oakmont police Chief David DiSanti said police received a call at 10:30 p.m. from someone who had witnessed a man jump off the bridge.

DiSanti said police, fire officials and river rescue checked the area diligently but haven't found anyone.

DiSanti said police had been concerned when they received the report because an officer recently had to talk someone out of jumping from the bridge. He said police checked on the individual and found him to be OK.

Searches on Saturday were unfounded.

DiSanti said officials are going to work on putting "No Standing" and "No Stopping" signs on the bridge to increase the safety of individuals.
