Three Oakmont Police Officers Sustain Minor Injuries During Call

Police were called to 12th Street in Oakmont for an incident Tuesday night. A man faces assault and drug charges.

Three Oakmont police officers were treated for minor injuries sustained during a call on 12th Street Tuesday night.

Police were dispatched to the street for an incident and encountered William Perry Kratsa, 38 attempting to get on a motorcycle while being under the influence.

Oakmont police Chief David DiSanti said Kratsa would not comply and became very aggressive.

"The officers sustained minor injuries during the altercation to get him secure," DiSanti said.

Police also found several marijuana plants inside Kratsa's home. He and the three officers were taken to UPMC St. Margaret Hospital for evaluation.

Kratsa has been charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, public drunkenness, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and three counts of aggravated assault.

Kratsa is being held at the Allegheny County Jail. A preliminary hearing before Plum District Justice Linda Zucco has been scheduled for Jan. 23 at 9 a.m.
