UPDATED: Vehicle Hits Pedestrian at Verona Giant Eagle

The victim is a 94-year-old man.

A 94-year-old man was hit by a vehicle at the Verona Giant Eagle parking lot late Sunday morning.

According to Verona police Chief Ron McLemore, the man was walking across the crosswalk in the parking lot when he was struck by a vehicle.

The man was said to have arm trauma and was conscious and alert. McLemore said he was transported to UPMC St. Margaret and has some broken bones.

Police will be issuing citations to the driver of the vehicle, McLemore said.

This is the in a little over a month—and this year—that a pedestrian has been struck by a vehicle in Verona.
