Verona and Penn Hills fire departments are extinguishing a brush fire on West Railroad Avenue.

The call came in just after 9 p.m. Initial reports stated brush and a home on the 300 block of the Verona road were on fire.

When firefighters pulled up to the scene at 330 West Railroad Avenue, brush from a tree that had been cut down was against the home and on fire. Officials said flames got a small portion of the house, but that was extinguished quickly.
