$1 Billion in Profit From Lottery Sales Last Year

Players in PA bought $2.3 billion in lottery tickets in 2012

Did you buy a lottery ticket last year? If so, you helped generate $2.3 billion in sales for the Pennsylvania Lottery Commission.

That’s according to the Harrisburg Patriot News, which published a detailed look inside the lottery commission Monday.

The story says the commission made $1 billion in profit from the sales. That profit then went to help senior citizens.
