Dermody to Serve Another Term as State Representative

State Rep. Frank Dermody (D-33) has been re-elected.

State Rep. Frank Dermody of Oakmont will continue to represent the state's 33rd Legislative District.

On Tuesday, Dermody, a Democrat, beat Republican Gerry Vaerewyck of West Deer—the two also faced off during the 2010 election.

With 54 of 54 precincts reporting, Dermody received 15,945 votes—58.9 percent—to Vaerewyck's 11,092 votes—40.9 percent. These results are unofficial and will become official upon certification by the Allegheny County Board of Elections.

The district covers Oakmont and a portion of Plum Borough. Dermody has been representing the district since 1990.
