Numerous Applications Received for Riverview Superintendent, Vice Principal Positions

Riverview School District officials are in the process of interviewing candidates for the superintendent and high school vice principal positions.

Riverview School District officials are in the process of trying to fill two administrative positions—the district superintendent and the vice principal.

So far, about 25 people have submitted applications for the superintendent position.

Superintendent Chuck Erdeljac . The district is seeking candidates through the Pennsylvania School Board Association statewide network for the opening Erdeljac’s retirement leaves behind.

School board member John Hackworth said last week that officials received interview questions from PSBA. He asked the rest of the board to look over the questions and modify them in a way they think would suit the district.

The board will sort through the applications and choose who to interview.

Erdeljac said he's happy with the response.

There were a total of 62 applicants for the vice principal position which was last month. Hadley now is a principal at in Plum.

High school principal Jay Moser said after interviews, the pool has been narrowed down to two or three candidates. Second interviews with those candidates were scheduled to be conducted last week.

"We're looking for the intangibles that come through with conversations," he said.

Moser said he expects to have a recommendation for the board as early as tonight's school board voting meeting.
