Oakmont Officials Work on Filling Council Vacancy

Council has received several applications from people interested in being on council.

A new Oakmont council member can be appointed as early as next week.

Officials are working on filling a vacancy that will be left when Councilwoman Kitty Vagley's Sept. 11. The term ends Dec. 31, 2013.

On Tuesday, Council President Timothy Milberger said officials have received seven applications and that they have "a great group of candidates." Interviews are the next step.

Council has until October to fill the vacancy.
