Riverview School Board Notebook: June Voting Meeting

Laptop purchase, personnel and more were discussed at the June 18 Riverview School Board meeting.

Here's a roundup of items discussed at the Riverview School Board June voting meeting:

Laptops

The board approved a lease purchase agreement between the district and Hewlett-Packard Financial Services for 85 laptop computers for a total of $75,352 for three years.

Cooler/freezer

The Riverview Junior-Senior High School cooler/freezer will be replaced before the start of the 2012-13 school year. The board hired SS Kemp of Pittsburgh to complete the work for $81,488. The unit being replaced is the school's original from 1976.

Summer workers

Alexandra Abbott was hired to teach secondary math and Carolyn Cicero was hired to work on elementary targeted assistance during the summer school session.

The following summer workers for cleaning were approved: John Connolly, Ryan Kearney, Ray Rogers, Taylor DeLay, Brandon Peluso, Erich Geppert, Jay Zangrille, April McKinney, Matt Connolly and Joe Kelly. All will be paid $7.25 per hour.

The board also approved 20 hours of summer work for Elissa Miller to construct a new Riverview School District website. She will be paid $7.25.


Supplemental positions

The following people were approved for supplemental positions within the school district:

J. Dayhoff—Track volunteer
R. O'Malley—Drama Club
J. Bertucci—Musical Director
W. Beebe—Football volunteer
M. Kowalski—Junior high assistant basketball coach
T. Wagner—Baseball volunteer
B. Pegher—Ecology Club
P. Ostrowski—Cross Country volunteer
B. Squires—Boys head tennis coach
M. O'Donnell—JV Cheerleading coach

Resignation/Leave

Audrey Terebessy, a Class II Paraprofessional, resigned.

Erica George, Verner Elementary fourth grade teacher, will be on leave from Aug. 20 through Nov. 2.
