Plum High School Ranks Top 50 for Region's Highest SAT Scores

See how Plum and Riverview students scored on the SAT test.

The Pennsylvania Department of Education released a list of high schools' average SAT scores for 2012, and Plum High School has ranked in the Top 50 in the region.

The Pittsburgh Business Times compiled a list of the top SAT scores for high schools in the Pittsburgh region. Plum High School ranked 48 with an average combined score of 1480.

Out of 237 Plum High School students tested, the average verbal score was 495, the average math score was 504 and the average writing score was 481.

Riverview High School did not make the Top 50 list, but out of the 67 students tested there, the average verbal score was 504, the average math score was 496 and the average writing score was 475.

3.       Mt. Lebanon Senior High School

4.       Fox Chapel Area Senior High School

5.       Hampton High School*

9.       Franklin Regional Senior High School

10.     Quaker Valley High School

The noted (*) schools above all registered increases in scores over the previous year’s combined score.
