Plum High School Students "Focus" on Winning Contest

Students have entered a Ford Focus commercial contest in the hopes of winning $10,000.

Plum High School students have entered a commercial-making contest for Ford Focus and they need the community's votes and support to win.

The Ford Focus on Schools is a contest in which selected high schools must make a commercial featuring the Ford Focus. Prize winners will be announced on or about July 31. The first place winner will receive $10,000. Prizes are reduced in $1,000 increments down to 10th place, which will win $1,000.

Plum's Ford Focus commercial puts a unique spin on the typical car advertisement. A group of bullies attempt to vandalize other Ford cars, but can't bring themselves to deface the Ford Focus, especially with such a cool canine driver.

Plum's commercial promotes the Focus with its comedy, innovative script and star, the dog Voda, who is a Plum police dog.

Rick Berrott, TV productions teacher, helped students with the project. He said the school's commercial currently is in 12th place.
