Plum High School Transformer Has Been Repaired

Phone and Internet services at the high school will be down until Thursday.

A broken high school transformer has been repaired and should be up and running by Thursday, according to school district officials.

A storm earlier this month disabled one of the five transformers in the school. The 13,000-pound transformer was been transported to a company in Sharon, Pa., to be fixed. It will be returned to the school on Thursday.

Officials have had a generator running 24 hours a day to keep the phone and internet server working. To install the transformer, district Superintendent Lillian Naccarati said there would be a controlled shut down of the server on Wednesday.

There will be no phone or Internet services for the district until some time on Thursday, she said.
