RHS Clubs Pitch in to Help Sandy Victims

Oakmont and Verona students are hoping to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy and "Restore the Shore."

Members of Riverview High School's Student Council, Builder's Club, National Honor Society and Key Club are uniting to raise money and supplies for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The students are working directly with Key Club officers in New Jersey (Point Pleasant and Lavallette) to deliver and provide supplies.

Students will be collecting different items from Monday, Nov. 12, to Wednesday, Nov. 21, to help the victims rebuild their ability to achieve normalcy after the horrific damage caused by Hurricane Sandy.

Some items needed are canned food, bottles of water, soap, coats and hoodies, toothbrushes, toiletries and more. A complete list of items has been included in the media section of this article.

All monetary donations will be totaled and sent to “Restore the Shore,” a New Jersey charity that has been helping devastated families and small businesses.

Donations can be dropped off at the high school front office. Monetary donations will be accepted, and checks can be made out to "RHS Key Club." Anyone interested in receiving more information about the students' efforts can contact Ms. DeLuca at mdeluca@rsd.k12.pa.us.
