Riverview Marching Band Show Goes On With Flash Mob

The RHS Marching Band performed its halftime show at a parking lot in Harmarville Saturday night.

At Riverview, the show must go on!

The Riverview High School Marching Band was scheduled to perform its "Beatlemania" show at the Yough Band Festival Saturday evening, but it was canceled due to the rain. Instead, members of the marching band took to a parking lot in between the Giant Eagle Express and Target in Harmarville to put on its show (it starts at 4 minutes in the attached video).

Did you see the band's flash mob? Have photos or videos? Share them with us!

I agree, Kelli. I am disappointed in Target, too. For all the money we collectively spend at that store!

I got "chills" and waves of joy watching this performance. The Riverview Band and band administration definitely have a sense of humor; unfortunately it sounds like the Target manager does not. What better place would there be for a well-supervised, creative and talented group of young people to be on a Saturday night by turning a disappointing evening into an impromtu community event? Next time, try the old Giant Eagle parking lot in Oakmont. We love out young people!!! I may have to boycott Target or send a letter of complaint. Way to go, Riverview!!

As a PROUD Band Parent, I can tell you that this show will be remembered as one of the Band's finest Festival Performances EVER! These kids represent something truly spectacular we have at Riverview, and they did their school proud Saturday night. The police officers that attended the show were very nice, and very respectful of our Band. I think they enjoyed the show, and were smart enough to recognize that something truly special was happening, with ZERO potential harm to Target, or the public. I think the folks that came out of the Giant Eagle Express had some fun too! The manager at Target was probably just taken aback by the throng of people showing up in his lot, so I don't really hold a grudge against him, but he sure could have made a better Public Relations choice in his actions! Lots of customers in his lot that night! Congratulations Riverview Band Members!!! Your idea was TREMENDOUS, and I am proud that my daughter is part of this fabulous group of kids. You truly are a gem in our Community's crown!!!!
