Riverview Raiders are 2-0 After Their Win Against Leechburg

Highlights from the game against Leechburg.

The Riverview Raiders won their second Varsity Football game of the season on friday night against the Leechburg Area High School Blue Devils with a 39-12 score.

The game was away at Veterans Memorial Field.

In the first quarter, the Raiders came in the lead when quarterback Jacob Milberger scored the first touchdown with a 45-yard run.

In the second quarter, the Raiders maintained the lead. Runningback Vinnie Piccolino had a two-yard run for a touchdown, and wide receiver Corey Bickert scored after a 66-yard run. 

With six seconds left before halftime, Blue Devils wingback D.J. Oberdorf scored the team's first touchdown with a three-yard run.

In the third quarter, Piccolino scored the fourth touchdown for the Raiders with a 45-yard run. Kicker Roya Fashandi kicked a successful 33-yard field goal.

Raiders scored yet again in the third quarter when Milberger passed the ball to Bickert, who ran the ball for 58 yards. 

Blue Devil Alex Kelmar scored the game's final touchdown with six seconds left in the game.

  • Milberger attempted 11 passes and completed five for a total of 133 yards.
  • Outer linebacker Joe Brown had the only sack for the Raiders.
  • Wide receiver Jeff Houston had an interception and ran it for 27 yards.
  • Bickert ran for two 2-point conversions and made both.
