Runners Plan to Lead Off Events in Oakmont Next Weekend

Prior to the fourth annual Riverview Grand Prix cycling race on May 29, the Twin Boro 5K Run will kick off the day's festivities.

Prior to the fourth annual Riverview Grand Prix in Oakmont on Sunday, May 29, when hundreds of cyclists take to the streets, avid runners will kick off the day’s events with the Twin Boro 5K Run.

Oakmont resident and race coordinator Palma Ostrowski is hoping for a great turnout. The 3.1 mile run will both start and end at the Riverside Park in Oakmont; proceeds benefit the Riverside Park,.

“The course is relatively flat and good for beginning runners, as well as experienced runners who would like to run a fast course,” Ostrowski said. “The wonderful police of both communities (Oakmont and Verona) will keep the roads clear and safe for runners.”

“We also have a generous raffle giveaway where gift certificates to local businesses are raffled off to registered runners,” she said.
