The Penguins have been broadcasting at their first-round playoffs games this year against the Tampa Bay Lightning on a big screen in the Civic Arena south parking lot across the street from CONSOL. Typically, the screen gets a larger crowd during away games.

The Penguins-Lightning series, like all Stanley Cup playoffs pairings, is a best-of-seven contest. The Pens host the first two games, and the Lightning get the next two. Since more than four games are required, the series then jumps back-and-forth between Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay until one team wins a fourth game.
