Happening in Verona

Thursday, July 25 the Delmont Community Band will be featured at the gazebo in Verona Railroad Park on East Railroad Avenue between 7 and 8 pm.  Remember to bring your chair or a blanket and refreshments to enjoy while listening to the music.

Friday, July 26 is Movies in the Park in Verona Railroad Park at dusk.  BRAVE is the movie that will be shown.  Bring your blanket or chair.  Popcorn and a Huggies drink will be available.

 Sunday, July 28 Verona United Methodist Church and the community will welcome the Pastor and Mrs. Bruce Stollings.  Word has it that Rev. Stollings has a varied background, a love for music, education, sports, and the Lord.  He will be at Verona UMC Sunday morning at 9:30 am and at Rosedale UMC at 11 am.

Wednesday, July 31 the Twin Boros Health Ministry will host a Community Dinner in Fellowship Hall of Verona United Methodist Church located on the corner of Herron and Center avenues, between 4:30 and 6:30 pm.  These dinners are for those 55 and over.  They feature a home cooked dinner and fellowship with other diners and members of the Twin Boros Health Ministry, community churches, community agencies, and your family.  The dinners are FREE, but donations are always welcome.

Monday, August 12 – Friday, August 16 is Vacation Bible School at Verona United Methodist Church from 6 until 8:30 pm.  This year’s theme is “Where God’s World Comes Together.”  You are invited to spread the word, invite a neighbor, and come and learn and enjoy.

Saturday, August 17 is the Verona Chamber of Commerce’s 18th annual Car Cruise held on East Railroad Avenue.  There will be plenty of new, not so old, and very old cars for you to examine and remember when you might have driven and similar car.  In addition to looking and seeing there will be delicious food, Leo Bickert “spinning” the tunes, and neighbors to chat with.  The Car Cruise will begin at 4 pm and then between 8 and 9 pm the cars will “cruise” through Verona down to the Hulton Bridge and back.  Chairmen to contact are:  Lou Race at 412-828-4422 and Mayor Dave Ricupero at 412-828-9030.

Come to Verona and enjoy a variety of activities with us.  They will make you summer fun more enjoyable.
