Comcast Employees Volunteer at Plum American Legion

The volunteers spent the day in Plum last Saturday.

Local Comcast employees and their families and friends Saturday volunteered at American Legion Post 980 in Plum as part of Comcast Cares Day.

“We’re honored to partner with so many other volunteers to improve the Plum community during Comcast Cares Day,” said Jim Samaha, Comcast Keystone Region Senior Vice President. “I’m grateful to the local volunteers who donated their time to help make a difference.”

At the same time across the country, more than 67,000 Comcast and NBCUniversal volunteers were giving back to their communities as they participated in Comcast Cares Day, one of the nation’s largest days of corporate volunteerism. In its 11th year, Comcast Cares Day 2012 also marks more than 2.5 million hours volunteered and more than $11 million contributed to organizations on this day of service since it first began in 2001.

“For more than a decade, our employees, their families and their friends have made Comcast Cares Day one of the nation’s most impactful corporate volunteering events in our nation,” said Brian L. Roberts, Chairman and CEO, Comcast Corporation. “We are proud of the cities and neighborhoods where we work and live, and Comcast Cares Day provides a terrific opportunity to celebrate those communities by coming together and giving back to them.”

The Comcast Foundation provides grants to local community partner organizations across the country on behalf of each employee and family member who volunteered on Comcast Cares Day. The grants will help Comcast’s community partners continue their mission of serving the community throughout the year.
