Oakmont Borough Council Special Meeting
Oakmont Borough Council has scheduled a special executive session at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30 with the borough solicitor to discuss the proposed Speedway gas station on Hulton Road.
Also on the agenda is discussion on the proposed amendment, to “Chart C – Use” of the Oakmont Zoning Ordinance for the Mixed Use District.
No School for Riverview
There will be no school for Riverview students on Monday, Sept. 30 as the staff takes part in a professional development day.
Plum Council Meeting

Artwork on Display at Oakmont Library
Oakmont Library will feature the works of Marcia Miller from Oct. 1 through Nov. 1. In the mid-1980s, Miller started decorative painting as a hobby to combat empty nest syndrome.
From her roots in tole painting, she has expanded her use of media into watercolors, oils, colored pencils, and acrylics. Her painting surfaces include furniture, clothing, large tools such as saws and traditional canvas.

The Oakmont resident also is an active member of Town and Country Decorative Painters and Golden Triangle Decorative Painters.
Oakmont Democrats Present Dr. Cyril Wecht
Dr. Cyril Wecht, MD, JD, will speak on his various cases, including his work on the JFK assassination, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Greek Social Hall at 12 Washington Avenue in Oakmont.
Wecht will answer questions and sign copies of his books. The cost for the event is $10 per person. Call 412-828-1759 for reservations. Refreshments will be provided.
