Five Things You Need to Know: First Day of School for Plum, School Board Meets, Farmer's Market

1. Plum First Day of School

Are your backpacks ready? Plum students head back to school, Monday, Aug. 26.

2. Plum School Board Meets

What’s going on in your child’s school? Find out in person when Plum school officials meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the auditorium at Plum Senior High School.

3. Verona Farmer’s Market

The Verona Farmer’s Market offers a variety of fresh and locally grown produce from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 along East Railroad Avenue in Verona.

The market also offers a host of other items, including jams and jellies, cookies, breads, desserts and much more.

4. Thomas W. Angerman Memorial Golf Outing

The Thomas W. Angerman golf outing kicks off at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30 at the Hill Crest Country Club in Lower Burrell. Proceeds benefit Riverview Community Action Corporation programs and activities.

Angerman was a long time board member of RCAC and an ardent supporter of the center.

5. Garage Sale to Benefit the Troops

A garage sale to benefit Military Connections’ care package program will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at Anderson Interiors, located at 12 Plum Street, Verona.

Anderson Interiors is accepting donations of household from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. No adult clothing please.
