Dorothy Giammatteo, of Willows at Presbyterian Senior Care (formerly of Penn Hills), passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the age of 97.  Dorothy was the beloved wife for 59 years of the late Daniel Giammatteo; loving mother of Dolores (the late Emanuel) Lucia, Daniel (Marie) Giammatteo, and Dianna (John “Jack”) Aubele; grandmother of Frank (Megan), Manie (Kelly), Susie (Paul), Dan (Donna), Kim (Sean), and John (Shelly); great-grandmother of 16; sister of Samuel (Nina) Romango, Marlene (Richard) Blaugher, and the late Tony, Albert, Laura, William, Edith, and Daniel.  Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Verona.  Friends and relatives will be received on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the BURKET-TRUBY …

Charlene J.Manganaro, of Wilkins Twp., passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the age of 63, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh  Charlene was born on July 23, 1949 in Pittsburgh.  She was a daughter of the late George and Gladys (Quinn) McDade; beloved wife of the late Peter Manganaro; loving mother of Harry (Traci) Brothers of Natrona Heights, Donna (Christopher Pollifrone) Brothers of Springdale, Kathy (Robert) Alexander of Wilkins Twp., Linda (the late Gene) Churchel of Somerset, Ray (Carole) Manganaro of Plum, and LuAnn (Matthew) Ferkatch of Plum.  She is also survived by her siblings and her many nieces and nephews. Carl J. Vinante, of Oakmont, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in Consulate Health Care, Cheswick, at the age of 82. Louis H. Balot III, 49, of Plum Borough, died Saturday, April 6, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia; the father of Lauren and Meghan; the son of Louis (Bernadette) H. Balot Jr. and Hilda (Hartman) Ennis; the brother of Michael (Elyce) Balot, Rene (Yoko) Balot and Angela (Edward) Wallace. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was a Lieutenant Commander with more than 30 years of service to the Navy. Rose (Gondak) Banas, of Springdale, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, April 4, 2013, in her residence, at the age of 89. Rose was born July 2, 1923, in Springdale to the late Agnes Gondak and Anthony Wisnieski.  Rose graduated from Springdale High School in 1941 and resided in the area all of her life.  She worked at the former Fashion Hosiery in New Kensington and in later years was a caregiver.  Rose and her husband were two of the original founders of the Open Bible Church, Springdale, where she was a proud member and taught Sunday school.  She is the author of a book titled “Ordinary People Amazing Miracles,” a book based on her life’s ministry.  Rose devoted her life to spreading God’s word, traveling worldwide with her loving …
