Several people have been charged following a deadly shooting in Penn Hills last week.
Several people were arrested at a Havana Drive home in Plum earlier this week following a deadly shooting in Penn Hills. According to the Post Gazette, a shooting that occurred on Westwood Road last Friday led to the death of a 21-year-old and the arrests of five people. Charges have been filed against Ronald Riviere, 32; Kwasi Prince, 21; Michael Siddo, 34; Michael Josephs, 38; and Tarique Smith, 37. Accoding to the newspaper, Riviere shot prince and Brandon Stokes when he was reaching into his pocket to get money for a McDonald's run. Stokes died from a gunshot wound to the chest and Prince survived after being shot in the stomach. According to WPXI, police arrested Riviere on Havana Drive earlier this week. A Penn Hills man is accused of being drunk and shooting his gun at Boyce Park earlier this week.
Allegheny County Police have filed charges against a Penn Hills man accused of shooting his gun at Boyce Park on Tuesday. Glenn Mark Mooney, 58, has been charged with carrying a firearm without a license; recklessly endangering another person; disorderly conduct; public drunkenness; weapons in a park; and shrubs, flowers, trees and grass. Police were called to the park after people reported hearing shots. Mooney is accused of being intoxicated and engaging in target shooting in a wooded area of the park. The incident occurred in Plum Borough just after 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Allegheny County police have arrested two people after reported gunfire at Boyce Park in Plum on Tuesday. According to WPXI, shots were fired just after 11 a.m. at the park along Pierson Run Road. According to the Post Gazette, no one was hurt in the incident, and the scene was clear at 11:45 a.m. This isn't the first time that there has been gun activity at the park. An employee of the Boyce Park Wave Pool in Monroeville—near the Plum border—allegedly showed a pornographic photo to a teen on Saturday.
Allegheny County police have charged a Boyce Park Wave Pool concession stand employee who allegedly showed a pornographic photo to a teen over the weekend. Sheldon B. Morris, 47, of Duquesne was charged with dissemination of pornography to minors and corruption of minors. According to KDKA, Morris called over a 15-year-old boy Saturday and showed the boy a photo of his penis on his cellphone. Morris was being held in Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $10,000 straight bond. The Wave Pool is located in Monroeville near the Plum Borough border. A 20-year-old from Penn Hills and a teen from Homewood have been charged after shots were fired at the Boyce Park Wave Pool earlier this month.
Two men are in jail after being charged in connection to a July 6 shooting near the Boyce Park Wave Pool entrance in Monroeville (close to the Plum border). Allegheny County police have charged Deshawn Hall, 20, of Penn Hills with aggravated assault, conspiracy, disorderly conduct, recklessly endangering another person, possessing an instrument of crime, prohibited acts and driving with a suspended license. J'Vante Hampton, 18, of Homewood was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, aggravated assault, conspiracy, disorderly conduct, recklessly endangering another person and possessing and instrument of crime. This is the third year in a row that gun activity has been reported at the pool.
For the third year in a row, shots have been fired at or near the Boyce Park Wave Pool in Monroeville (near the Plum border). According to KDKA, Allegheny County police said no one was hurt after shots were fired at a car near the pool's entrance, which is a half-mile from the pool itself. Last year, several local police departments responded to the pool in June after multiple shots were fired during a fight in the parking lot. In June 2010, there also was an incident involving two gunmen at the parking lot outside the wave pool, in which an 18-year-old was charged. What do you think about these recent incidents? The 19-year-old has been missing since saying she was headed to Florida with a boyfriend.
Alivia Christine Kail, a 19-year-old living in Mt. Washington, went to her brother's home in West Mifflin on March 5, 2011, to gather some clothes. Alivia told him she planned to move to Florida with her boyfriend, Alexander Lorenzi, of Pittsburgh's Esplen neighborhood. When her family was unable to contact her by phone for several days, they became concerned. Then Alivia's phone was shut off for non-payment. When Lorenzi reappeared in Pittsburgh without Alivia and gave conflicting accounts as to her whereabouts, the family's worry deepened. Lorenzi was arrested on March 30, 2011, for unrelated drug and gun charges. A Verona man has pleaded guilty to several charges in connection to a vehicle-pedestrian accident in the borough last year. On Wednesday, Joseph Frank Zelek, 57, pleaded guilty before county common pleas court Judge Thomas Flaherty to homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, homicide by vehicle, recklessly endangering another person, driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
