This cat has been neutered but not declawed.
This is Kenny, a cat in need of a home. According to his profile on the Animal Rescue League website, when Kenny first arrived at the shelter as a stray, he was extremely ill, but his foster mom nursed him through it to rebound as a happy, healthy cat. "Kenny ... is the perfect combination of affectionate and playful," the rescue league's website states. "He's a friendly boy who loves belly rubs. He also enjoys playing with just about anything—wand toys, balls, laser lights. "Kenny gets along well with other cats, and he often 'mothers' more frightened or hurt cats. Plus, look at that darling little face! How can you resist? "Because Kenny can playfully nibble on the fingers of those he loves, he would probably be best off in a home …

This Shar Pei was left due to landlord issues.
Meet Lil' Ling Ling—a unique Shar Pei mix in need of a "furever" home. The 2-year-old was surrendered to the Animal Rescue League due to landlord issues. Her owner said Ling Ling loves car rides and other dogs and cats. She's also house trained. Ling Ling had eye surgery and, as a result, her eyelashes were growing inward and causing some irritation, so Animal Rescue League staff members recommend a home with older children. One staff member recently took Ling Ling to an adoption event. The staff member said Ling Ling was well behaved. Ling Ling was a bit shy, possibly due to her sore eye, but allowed people to pet her and gave out a lot of kisses. "We think she will make a wonderful companion with the right family with previous dog …

This 4-year-old needs a loving forever home.
This is Jayla, a dog in need of a home. According to her profile on the Animal Rescue League website, "Jayla is an all-around good family dog. She likes kids, cats and other dogs. She is used to being in a crate at night and knows many commands. "The only problem Jayla has is that she tends to run away when not supervised." A mixed retriever breed with a tan-and-white coat, she is 4 years old. If you'd like to inquire about this pet, call 412-661-6452, ext. 215. Jayla's adoption fee is $115. _____________________ Plum-Oakmont Patch is on Facebook and on Twitter. Don't forget to sign up for our daily email newsletter by clicking here.

If you're looking for an outdoorsy kind of dog, stop by the Animal Rescue League in Pittsburgh to meet Todd!
If you're looking for an outdoorsy kind of dog, someone to take hiking or hunting, stop by the Animal Rescue League of Western PA in Pittsburgh to meet Todd! He's a 4-year-old coonhound mix who came to the shelter as a stray. He's a strong boy with a ton of energy, and seems unaccustomed to being leash walked. The shelter workers don’t know what training Todd has had, so some basic obedience classes are recommended. Anyone with previous dog experience would be best for this fun and lively guy! If you'd like to meet Todd, please call 412-661-6452 ext 215. Todd's adoption fee is $115. ____________________ Plum-Oakmont Patch is on Facebook and on Twitter. This guy needs a forever home.
Meet Peanut. Volunteers at Animal Rescue League said Peanut has been doing very well in his foster home. However, he still can be apprehensive around new people and will hide under the bed until he is comfortable. He is easily coaxed out from under the bed with a calm, loving voice and a good scratching on his cheeks and under his chin. Peanut is a very affectionate cat, but he definitely needs to be in a one-cat household. He has lived with a Labrador Retriever in the past, but would probably prefer to be alone. This 5-year-old kitty needs a place to call home.
Meet Weezy. This 5-year-old domestic short-hair mix is described by volunteers at Animal Rescue League as sweet and gentle and “happy to lean into a good ear scratch—even to a complete stranger." When volunteers checked her microchip, they discovered that she had been adopted from the ARL a few years ago and was brought in again when found as a stray. Volunteers said they hoped she wasn't homeless for long, but said she is clean and well-fed. Weezy is also said to make new friends fairly easily. Any questions about Weezy may be sent to catladycam@gmail.com. _______________________ Plum-Oakmont Patch is on Facebook and on Twitter. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is available for adoption.
Dori is a 6 year old, 43-pound Pembroke Welsh Corgi looking for a new home. Her owners surrendered her to the Animal Rescue League because she was chasing the cats and herding them around the house. They acquired her from relatives who were leaving her outside with no shelter or water. And they were feeding her people food for the past five years—and that's why she weights 43 pounds and not 25. Dori is on a special diet now, and she has already lost 10 pounds. She likes to pretend she's a lapdog, even though she's still a little plump. She likes to play with other dogs, but she needs a no cat household. Dori is great with well-mannered children, though she might try to herd them by nipping at their heels. Dori is very intelligent, and is …

Do you have room in your heart and home for this admitted Big Boy?
Meet Big Boy. His face has being featured on the Animal Rescue League's Facebook page over the summer. Big Boy ended up back at the shelter weighing only 42 pounds; which is half of the weight he should be. During his summer vacation at the ARL Big Boy has been getting tons of love from the staff and livin’ the life. He is putting on weight and learning basic commands so he is adoption ready. Big Boy is a pit bull mix, almost 3 years old with a brindle coat and an expressive smile. Big Boy gets along well with children and has also lived with other dogs in the past—but proper introductions should be done with the adoptions counselors at the shelter to ensure he's a good fit for your family. "Big Boy is a smart boy and loves to play fetch …
