Literary Fest Attracts Standing-Room-Only Crowd

Pittsburgh’s first-ever Women Read/Women Write book fest featured a fascinating panel of 11 local and national authors.

“To bring readers and writers together to celebrate the books women love to read.” That is the mission Mt. Lebanon residents and published authors Gwyn Cready and Meredith Mileti set for Women Read/Women Write, Pittsburgh’s first-ever book fest of its kind. “There is no festival that taps into this,” said Mileti, while welcoming the standing-room-only crowd at Barnes & Noble near South Hills Village on Saturday. “I’d like to thank all the participating authors; I look forward to welcoming more next year,” she said. Not an open seat in the house, aspiring writers sat intrigued by four panel discussions—all extremely informative and collectively comical—led by the accomplished panel.
